First LTT Activity "Make New Out of Old" was held in Zlín, Czech Republic
Střední průmyslová škola polytechnická Centrum odborné přípravy Zlín 
implements the Strategic Partnership Project KA229 " Save The Future Not Only Today, 
which runs from 01-11-2018 to 31-10-2020 and is funded with the support 
of the European Union through the Erasmus +

The working language of the project is English.

On April 11th-17th, 2019, Stredni prumyslova skola polytechnicka Centrum odborne pripravy Zlin held the first training and learning meeting between partner schools. At this meeting, participated:· 3 teachers and 4 students from Romania · 3 teachers and 3 students from Turkey· 2 teachers and 3 students from Latvia· 2 teachers and 3 students from Bulgaria teachers and students from Czech Republic

The aim of these activities is to stimulate environmental initiatives and to awaken the interests of students, their families and collectively, in general, to environmental issues. Students and teachers have been trained to find solutions to reduce environmental pollution and to promote initiatives in the field of nature protection, to organize educational campaigns to protect the environment, recycle and save natural resources. At the same time, we have proposed to improve the language skills of communication in English, to know new territories in terms of historical, cultural and geographic, to develop team spirit and to develop a European citizen consciousness, based on values ​​such as tolerance, respect and recognition differences.

On Friday, April 12th, 2019, a meeting was organized with representatives of the Ministry of Environment, which presented a material about the importance of recycling in the Czech Republic. The guests attended a cultural visit to the capital, whose main objectives, included in the UNESCO Heritage, were: Charles Bridge, St. Vitus Cathedral, Royal Summer Palace, Nicholas Church, Old Town Square, The Mediaeval Tower Clock, Powder Tower, Municipal House, National Theatre.

On Saturday, April 13th, 2019, students from the Czech Republic and Turkey presented materials in order to familiarize participants with information about the country, the school and the activities carried out so far in the project. After that, the students worked in work-shops, where they made wallets, keychains, notebooks. During the second part of the day, guests took a tour of Zlin, which aimed at the Baťa's Skyscraper building belonging to the renowned shoe maker.


Sunday, 14th April 2019, started with the presentation of the other partner countries (Bulgaria, Latvia and Romania) and continued with other workshops, as well as with a round table of coordinating teachers who discussed the activities project. During this discussion it was decided:

-the dates of the next mobilities;

-the activities organized by each school on Earth Day;

- video-conferences organized on project topics;

-the future mobility in Bulgaria.

During the second part of the day, the participants visited the Lešná Zoo, which is today among the most modern and well-appointed zoos of the world.

On Monday, April 15th, 2019, after the plastic recycling workshop, a tour of the host school was organized, which impressed the material base that allows pupils to be trained in many areas such as printing, photography, mechanics, engineering, design, economics and entrepreneurship. In the afternoon, the participants visited the Metal Zoo in Uherské Hradiště, a unique zoo in Europe, where animal sculptures made of scrap iron and Velehrad Cathedral, an important spiritual center, frequent church pilgrimage sites, meetings and celebrations since Cyril and Methodius. The church has been declared a national cultural monument.

On Tuesday, April 16th, 2019, after a paper recycling workshop, was organized a trip, the last destination was Javoříčko Caves, with wonderful, well-preserved and varied decoration. It is one of the most beautiful caves in the Czech Republic.

The students completed initial and final evaluation questionnaires and, following the final evaluation, they obtained the Europass Mobility mobility document, which certifies the new skills acquired and which has European recognition.

Analyzing the training and learning activity in Zlin school, we realised:

- a very good interaction between partners, sharing ideas, pleasant working atmosphere;

- the objectives have been well defined and achieved in full;

- the documentary visits were well organized, helping the partners to enrich their notions about ecological actions and Czech culture;

- workshops have been carried out in optimal conditions, with partners contributing equally to the achievement of tasks;

- a good collaboration between local decision-makers, parents, teachers, students has been proven;

- the promotional materials were visible and performed correctly;

- each participant received the attendance certificate at the meeting.

The conclusion was that the objective of the meeting was successful and the impact on the target group was positive.
