Second Activity Report

implements the Strategic Partnership Project KA229 Save the Future Not Only Today,
which runs from 01-11-2018 to 31-10-2020 and is funded with the support
of the European Union through the Erasmus +
At this meeting participated:
• 3 teachers and 5 students from Romania
• 2 teachers and 3 students from Turkey
• 2 teachers and 3 students from Latvia
• 3 teachers and 4 students from the Czech Republic
• 5 teachers and 20 students from Bulgaria
The students participated in various workshops related to recycling of waste materials with the aim to create new products for decoration. Through the participation in these workshops they practiced decision making, problem solving and entrepreneurial skills by finding of a solution to the problem suggested. They gained knowledge for building a business plan, improved language and communication skills, generated ideas and expressed their creativity. Thanks to the visit in the Ecovillage Dobrudzantsi the students learnt about the main aim of the Ecovillage: to help animals in need and show people how to live happier and harmoniously with themselves and the nature.
The planned activities during the mobility in Bulgaria included:
-WORKSHOPS
The students worked in teams on a case study in order to find a solution to a suggested problem. They had to establish a business and produce new products for decoration from waste materials. They created decorations from waste materials. Then they displayed them at a special exhibition where they had to explain their choice and purpose of their products .
- VISIT TO ECOVILLAGE "DOBROZHUNTSI"
All the participants took part in a guided tour round a special kind of zoo where mainly local animals are kept and protected. The zoo also serves as a shelter for animals in need. The students were involved in an activity for building a fence for goats from dead branches.
-VISIT TO A REGIONAL LANDFILL IN STORZHER
All the participants experienced a guided tour round a special place for recycling which was created with the help of EU.
- VISIT TO THE PALACE AND THE BOTANICAL GARDEN IN BALCHIK
During the guided tour round the garden participants learnt about the environmental friendly way the garden is kept; they reuse recycled Christmas trees and dead branches and other bio materials there.
- OTHER CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

- visit to an open air museum Old Dobrich where old houses with traditional crafts are preserved
- The host country prepared a Bulgarian evening with a
folklore group in traditional costumes, singing national songs and performance
showing old local crafts. The students could try to prepare local food.
- visit to Cape Kaliakra with rich history and famous
legends
- visit to Dalboka farm for organic mussels
- trip to Varna with guided tour round park Sea Garden
- visit to Varna Dolphinarium
The majority of teachers and students were involved in the planned activities:
- All the recycling activities have helped the
students increase their knowledge for nature preservation and to become
responsible citizens.
- The students as hosts participated in the
preparation of practical and cultural activities.
- The teachers were engaged with the organization of the workshops and shared
their knowledge with the other participants.
All the participants got knowledge about:
-the recycling in Bulgaria;
-the opportunities for creating decorations from waste
materials;
-the benefits of the recycling: reduction the amount
of waste sent to the landfills, saving resources, helping protect the
environment, saving energy;
- the Bulgarian customs and traditions;
They also improved their English language skills and had the opportunity to demonstrate their creative skills.
The participants met the Dobrich Eco community which organizes various events and cares for the conservation of the nature.
Organisation
was well planned, working atmosphere very pleasant, project team enthusiastic
and hardworking.
The
students completed initial and final evaluation questionnaires and obtained the
Europass Mobility document. Each participant received the attendance
certificate at the end of the meeting.
The
conclusion was that all the objectives of the meeting were fulfilled and the
impact on the target group was positive.
